Supercomputer.

Representatives of Japanese company NEC have declared that they managed to create the most powerful in the world supercomputer. Peak productivity of the newest NEC computer named SX-9, will make, according founders’ statements, 839 billion operations in a second with a floating point.

Supercomputer SX-9 will be shown at a meeting of supercomputers developers in Reno, Nevada which will take place from November, 10 till November, 14th, 2007.

Up to this message from NEC the most powerful supercomputer in the world was considered BlueGene/L developed by IBM experts together with Administration on nuclear safety of the USA. Productivity of this devise, during several years heading a rating of the most powerful supercomputers top500, makes 280.6 billion operations a second.
